DENPASAR – Disaster risks such as floods, landslides during the rainy season, until the event of fallen trees, and missing persons are very high in the province of Bali.

The Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bali Province, Made Rentin, appealed that tourism actors also care about the potential for disasters that will arise. Especially for the location that is visited by many tourists. The following explanation :

The Provincial Disaster Management Agency of Bali has handled 435 emergency events, 16 of which involved foreign nationals. Most of the incidents involving foreigners were caused by daily traffic accidents and emergency services.

Meanwhile reported from all districts in Bali, the incidence of fallen trees dominated up to 620 events, followed by 264 fires and 75 landslides.

“More foreign victims are not natural disasters. For example like people lost in the waves, falling from ships. There are several events like that”, he explained.

Until now the Bali Provincial Disaster Management Agency has installed nine tsunami sirens, six volcano sirens, four ambulances, two water tankers, and one unit of a public kitchen car.
