Bali Jakarta bicycle tour for charity event to raise funds for children school . This challenging trip will be performed by two Belgium nationals living on the island of the gods. De Witte’ Goethals (50), who has been living in Bali for eight years, will undertake a striking bicycle tour in August. Together with his former schoolmate, Alex Fabry (49), who also lives in Bali, he cycles from the capital Jakarta to Bali, good for 1,800 kilometers. With this titanic journey, the two men want to raise funds for a school for children who live on a garbage dump in Bali.

The two friends will leave on August 16 for the 1,800-kilometer journey that they plan to cover in 16 days. “We are making a warm appeal to like, share and follow us through the various social media channels and, of course, to donate. Because the more people we reach, the more children we can help. We would like to mention who makes a donation, as an individual or as a company, before, during and after our trip. Not only do we mention your name, but we also pick it up in our vlog, daily video blog, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.”A video of the two friends can be viewed on Bicycletourforcharity and you can learn everything about the fundraiser. You can already donate at the same time.
Ivan ‘De Witte’ Goethals has always been enterprising and adventurous. For years he was a cafe and restaurant manager in Hemiksem, until he moved to Bali eight years ago to start the small-scale resort Kayu Bali Cemagi. Because the island was also closed to tourists for two years due to the corona crisis, he saw how the local population, who was already struggling, was plunged even further into poverty and how children ended up in famine. That is why he now wants to set up an action for those who have it most difficult. In his former schoolmate Alex Fabry he found an ally for this purpose.
With the collected funds, the two friends want to renovate the school and provide it with better facilities. “We want to build a new classroom, as well as a new playground and new sanitary facilities. We also want to equip the school better with computers, a fast internet connection and good textbooks. We want to give the children the opportunity to learn and discover their own passions. We love to put a smile on their face!”
