Missing Fishermen Still Not Found Part II
The combined of Search And Rescue (SAR) team in Jembrana Regency continues to search for the Banjar Melaya Pantai fishermen, Melaya Village / District, Jembrana, Hasan Sidik (49), who were reported missing in the middle of Melaya Pantai waters, Monday (11/25) afternoon.
NEGARA – The search on the third day, Wednesday (11/27) afternoon, has not yielded results. Coordinator of Jembrana Search and Relief Post, I Komang Sudiarsa, said that in searching for the victim, 2 rubber boats were deployed. In addition to rubber boats from the National Search and Relief Agency (BNPP), a rubber boat from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Jembrana was also deployed. “We continue to maximize the search together with BPBD, water police unit, Navy. Every day, we continue to expand the search area. We go down twice a day, with a sweeping time of three hours per fall”, he said.
In addition to officers, according to Sudiarsa, on the part of the victim’s family also sought to search the sea. In fact, from the family who had asked for instructions shaman or paranormal, had a chance to search up to the Muncar waters in Banyuwangi, East Java. But the search effort also has not produced results. “We from SAR and BPBD have also expanded the search area. Finally, eastward to the Pebuahan waters (Banyubiru Village, Negara District). “Westward to the waters of Tuwed (Tuwed Village, Melaya District)”, he said.
During the search, information was distributed to the fishermen. But there is currently no information on fishermen who see people drowning or floating in the sea. “We will schedule the search for seven days until Sunday (1/12). What is certain is that we will continue to maximize our search as much as we can, and hopefully before the seventh day, victims can be found”, he hoped.
While the Chairman of the Jembrana Water Police unit Iptu H Eddy Waluyo said Wednesday the case of fishermen lost in the middle of the sea, this has repeatedly happened in Jembrana. Previously, a fisherman from Banjar Pebuahan, Banyubiru Village, Negara District, Jembrana, Mulyadi (23), was also reported missing in the middle of Ketapang Lampu waters, Pengambengan Village, Negara District, Jembrana, Sunday (9/22), and also had not been found until this time. The cause of the missing victim is also not known with certainty. He considered, the incident of this missing fisherman could actually be anticipated if the fishermen were aware of the importance of using personal safety equipment in the form of a life jacket.
“In addition to fishermen, previously there were also passenger ships crossing over the Bali Strait. We ourselves see, if incidents like this, one of them is also caused by ignoring the factor of personal safety. At a minimum use a life jacket for safety at sea. We often remind fishermen, but there are still many who ignore. We have even handed over life jacket and life buoy assistance, but the reason is complicated”, he said.
Aside from being obliged to wear a life jacket, said Iptu Eddy, to anticipate similar incidents, he hoped that the fishermen would not go out to sea by themselves. “At least the two of them, so if there is an incident in the middle of the sea, there is someone who knows and helps. This often happens. Going to sea by himself, suddenly his boat bobbed in the middle of the sea. Finally, no one knows where the location of the fall, and do not know how it happened. So it’s better to anticipate, safety first”, he said.
