DENPASAR – Two Hong Kong citizens were arrested by Ngurah Rai Customs and Excise officers, Bali, for carrying narcotic types of methamphetamine (crystal meth). The arrest was carried out in collaboration with Bali Regional Police officers. They are PKH (43) and MCK (19).

PKH was arrested on December 4th ago. “He smuggled narcotics in the wall of the suitcase”, said Director of the Bali Regional Police Narcotics Detective, Police Commissioner Ida Bagus Komang Ardika in a press statement, Wednesday (12/18/2019).

PKH is known to come with the Thai airline Lion Air with flight number SL258 on the Bangkok route, Don Mueang – Denpasar at around 20.30 CIT.

From the x-ray examination, officers suspected the results of imaging the suitcase of the man who known to the profession as a private employee so that further examination was carried out.

After unloading, officers found 13 packages containing white crystal beads with a total weight of 3,230 grams suspected methampetamine type of narcotic. “The items are hidden in the walls of the black suitcase without a brand and had been modified”, Ardika said.

The second arrest was made to MCK on December 12th. An x-ray examination showed that there was a suspicious item in his suitcase. Further examination results showed that the MCK had 4 plastic packaging with Health brand food and a dog logo.

The dog food packaging contains white crystal beads with a total weight of 4.1 kilograms. “The packages are neatly stored in gift wrapping paper decorated with red ribbons in the suitcase”, Ardika added.

The police are still steeped in these findings. However, strong suspicion that illicit goods will be circulated in Bali ahead of the new year. Ardika added, although both originated from Hong Kong, but PKH and MCK did not know each other.

As a result of his actions, PKH was threatened with a death sentence. “Investigators in this case use articles with the threat of capital punishment for both. Later there will be a legal process”, concluded Ardika.
