DENPASAR – Rawson Ricky Shane (56), an Australian citizen who was found to be holding and having 0.09 grams of methamphetamine was tried at Denpasar District Court, Wednesday (12/18/2019).

The Public Prosecutor, I Dewa Nyoman Wira Adi, in the indictment read before the panel of judges with the chairman of Engeliky, charged the middle-aged Australian citizen with Article 112 Paragraph 1 and Article 127 Paragraph 1 letter a of Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning narcotics.

“The defendant’s actions without rights and against the law to have, keep, control and misuse non-plant drugs”, said the prosecutor in his indictment.

It was stated that the defendant was arrested on 11 October 2019, at 02.00 CIT in the Bisma Suite hotel yard, Kuta, Badung Regency, after buying methamphetamine from someone. Before being arrested, on October 10th, 2019, at 23.30 CIT the defendant ordered his friend Reza (DPO) to find the methamphetamine to be taken to the defendant’s boarding house.

The defendant had handed IDR 700 thousand to Reza and told his friend to bring him a bong. Then the defendant and his friend had a drug party at his friend’s boarding house.

Because there were drugs left over after being used for a party, the defendant then returned to his hotel while carrying drugs and suction tools. However, when he arrived at the courtyard where he was staying the defendant was immediately arrested by the officers. During a search, 0.09 grams of residual methamphetamine was found and bong was used.
