German hotel owner surrendered in Buleleng
German hotel owner surrendered himself in Buleleng after hiding for 9 years in his home country and in Lombok. Now he is finally facing his 2 years jail sentence for his involvement in a controversial fraud case. Karl Gulther Meyer ( 62 ) a German citizen was reported by the American citizen Michael Brag for selling Rp 9.3 billion of his shares and never handed them over witch belonging to the property enterprise named Bali Melka . In July 22 th 2012 Karl was convicted by the Supreme Court’s Decision No. 2236.K/PID/2012 . On August 9, 2012, the Singaraja District Court convicted Karl to 18 months in prison. Karl started an appeal to the Bali High Court and received an acquittal decision on October 1, 2012 . Apparently Karl fled to Germany when the acquittal was announced.

Karl the owner of the Melka Hotel, Kalibukbuk Village, Lovina was observed for one week at his son’s house in Lombok. When the police planned his arrest on Sunday, August 1, 2021 he fled to Bali in the early hours of the morning via the sea port. Because the convict did not want to mention his location in Bali, The Buleleng Prosecutor’s immediately blocked sea and airport to avoid Karl escaping Bali.
