BADUNG – The case of suicide involving foreigners and local residents as victims became the attention of the Badung Resort Police in Bali, so that they would hold a mobile clinic in each Banjar to reduce the suicide rate.

“In the future we will also intensify patrol activities especially to anticipate them, because in Badung there are many tourists from various countries or even local residents who have killed themselves and of course become our attention”, said Badung Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Roby Septiadi, in Badung Resort Police Headquarters, Friday.

Seeing this case, his party plans to open a kind of clinic running in conjunction with psychological guidance. “During my one month as Badung Police Chief, I have received reports that there were almost 3-4 incidents related to suicide or hanging”, Roby said.

Roby plans to collaborate with related parties such as Bhayangkara Trustees of Security and Public Order, Health Office, Customary Administrators and the community to minimize suicide cases both foreigners or local residents.

“What is certain is that we will also work together with Bhayangkara, the Trustee of Public Order and Security, the Banjar in Badung to monitor many suicides, not only conduct inspections but will try to do everything in our power to anticipate that no more suicides will occur”, he said.

He said that the number of foreigners and local residents who were victims of suicide was considered almost the same. According to him, motives began to bloom to suicide because of family problems, accounts payable and generally like that. “In the future, we will touch Banjar and involve the District Health Office to provide counseling guidance, if there are Banjar residents or foreigners who are confused about where to complain”, Roby said.

He added that the plan is targeted to be realized in 2020, because it is currently completing the budget submission stage. It also highlighted prominent cases throughout 2019, including theft by weighting in 20 crime scenes targeting laptops in elementary schools, cases of theft with violence against victims of foreign nationality, beatings up to passed away by a minor.

There are also international crime syndicates online fraud or skimming by foreign citizens, disclosure of China-Bali network drug cases and inter provincial networks and also cases of corruption and money laundering at the Landing Platform Dock of Adat Kapal Village, Mengwi and Badung.

“From the prominent cases, it is also our concern, so that the case can be pressed for in this Badung region”, he concluded.
