MANGUPURA, BALIPOST.com – He had recently finished a lovely dinner with his wife, Herlina (30) from South Jakarta, when Joson Mikal Anthony (44) a Canadian Citizen was found dead in the Swimming Pool at Villa Wilayah on Jalan Pantai Berawa, North Kuta, Badung, last Thursday (12/26) .

The cause of Mr. Anthony’s death has yet to be determined.

According to sources in the field, a witness known as Roi (50), a security guard at the villa, said that at 4:30 am he was told that a foreigner was face down in the swimming pool.  Mr. Roi immediately contacted the victim’s wife and they discovered Joson still in the swimming pool face down.

Mr. Roi called his fellow security guards who assisted to recover Mr. Anthony from the swimming pool. The security team attempted to revive Mr. Anthony by administering CPR, but were unsuccessful in their attempts. The incident was reported to the North Kuta Sector Police.

Herlina told officers that on Wednesday at 7:00 pm, herself and her husband left the villa for dinner. At 04.30, she observed the Mr. Anthony face down the bottom of the pool after being called by Mr. Roi.

“The witness (Herlina) then asked Mr. Roi to recover the victim from the bottom of the pool because he could not swim. The results of the Pratama Prima Clinic doctor’s examination with members of the Badung Regional Police Identification unit, were inconclusive.

No signs of violence were found on the victim’s body. The exact cause of death will only be determined through the results of an autopsy, “he explained.

The Head of Public Relations of Badung Police, Iptu, Ketut Oka Bawa, when asked for confirmation, confirmed the incident. “This incident was handled by North Kuta Sector Police,” he said.
