CANGGU – A tourist from Australia named Emma Bell who claimed to be robbed in Canggu area, North Kuta District, on (4/12) and suffered severe injuries turned out to spread hoax just to get insurance.

This was revealed after the Bali Regional Police Mobile Investigation Team went down to investigate. Emma Bell disseminates her information to the online media in Australia, 9news.com.au. In the media it is written that Emma Bell’s head was cracked as a result of being stolen. Emma Bell also claimed at the time of his being robbed she was dragged by a robber until she was dying. As a result she suffered a lot of cost. In addition, her bag was taken away by the robber.

Director of the Bali Regional Police General Criminal Investigation, Senior Commissioner of Police Andi Fairan confirmed, on Monday (10/12) said Emma Bell’s confession about being robbed was not true. In fact she had a pure traffic accident not because of being robbed. The bag that was said to be missing was also a lie. It was known by the police after the false news was viral and Emma Bell had returned to Australia.

After hearing news about the incident the Bali Regional Police Mobile Investigation team checked to the North Kuta Sector Police. Apparently there were no reports related to the incident as reported. Then Detective Mobile go to Emma Bell’s place of stay at Villa Rose, Jalan Bumbak, Gang Pulau Karimata, Canggu, North Kuta. There, the officers met with her friend named Bryden Ian.

“The Detective Mobile team got information from her friends that Emma Bell was not robbed. She had a pure traffic accident. Bryden Ian said the motive from Emma Bell claimed to be hindered to get insurance from her country”, said Big Commissioner Andi.

Aside from visiting the Rose Villa, Emma Bell, the police also visited BIMC Kuta Hospital, Badung. Information from the BIMC Hospital they received a referral patient on behalf of Emma Bell from Sanglah Hospital Denpasar, on (4/12). Emma Bell was treated at BIMC Hospital for 3 days. On (7/12) Emma Bell asked to be referred to a hospital in her country, Australia.

“Emma Bell asked to be referred to a hospital in her country because she could not claim her insurance in Bali. His friend (Bryden Ian) was summoned to the North Kuta Sector Police to be asked for information regarding the hoax”, said Commissioner Andi.
