The Bali Hijau Lestari Foundation (YBHL) is an institution in Bali consisting of a group of people who care about nature and the environment, especially in the areas of greening in the Province of Bali. Based on a sense of voluntary and caring, YBHL aims to create and realize awareness and knowledge of nature conservation and carry out the movement of nature conservation and the environment, especially in the field of greening.
YBHL was founded in 2009, but its activities have been started since 2007 by organizing tree planting and cleaning activities together. YBHL in collaboration with the Asian Green Forest Network (AGFN) Non Profit Organization (NPO) from Japan obtained permission from the Governor of Bali to carry out reforestation and nature conservation activities in Bali. In 2007 reforestation or tree planting activities began in the Gunung Batur – Bukit Payang Kintamani TWA forest with timber plants.
Along with the development of the network, in 2009 together with various communities held a joint planting activity called the Bali Reforestation Festival by taking location in the TWA forest area of Mount Batur – Bukit Payang Penelokan precisely to the north of Pura Jati on the edge of Lake Batur.
The festival is supported and involves various groups of people both individuals, organizations, schools, private companies and the government. The activity is an annual event and in 2015 this was the 7th Bali Reforestation Festival.
In the 2009 Festival around 200 participants participated and planted around 1,000 trees, in 2010 around 500 people participated and planted 2,000 trees and in 2011 around 800 participants participated and planted 3,000 trees. In 2012 it was attended by ± 500 participants and 4,000 trees were planted, in 2013 around 850 people attended and in 2014 around 600 people.
