According to the Acting Director of PT Nindya Karya Haedar A. Karim, the project’s development requires an investment fund of up to IDR 5 trillion.

This project will be worked on through cooperation between PT Nindya Karya together with the Korea Rail Network Authority (KRNA) and the Korea Overseas Infrastructure and Urban Development Corporation (KIND) through a signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

The agreement was signed by the three parties yesterday afternoon, Tuesday (1/21/2020) in Jakarta. South Korea was present in the construction of the project not only as an investor but also participated as a contractor of the project. This transportation mode technology is also planned to be imported directly from the Ginseng Country.

Furthermore, the signing of the MoU of the three parties will also involve PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) in the near future.

“At the latest 3 months after the MoU with Angkasa Pura we will make a FS (feasibility study). We are trying to start construction this year”, said Haedar at the BKPM (Investment Coordinating Board) Building, Jakarta, Tuesday (1/21/2020) .

Haedar added that the project with an investment value of IDR 5 trillion uses a business to business scheme or does not use loan funds.

Regarding the investment composition of each of the parties involved, Haedar could not be specified because the signing of the collaboration with Angkasa Pura as the host had not yet been carried out.

Bali LRT Project Worth IDR 5 Trillion

The subway light transportation project will stretch from the Kuta area along the 3.5 kilometer to Ngurah Rai Airport.

“We will make an underground station in Kuta because Angkasa Pura requested that it be a central check-in to reduce parking density at the airport”, he said.

The LRT development project is one of the many collaborations between the Republic of Indonesia and South Korea, which is currently being pushed by the government.

Previously, BKPM had signed an MoU with KIND to increase investment flows from South Korea in the field of infrastructure cooperation and urban area development.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by BKPM Deputy for Investment Planning Ikmal Lukman and KIND Executive Vice President Han Kyu Lim at the Business Forum: Invest Indonesia event in Seoul, South Korea as of September 20th, 2019.

To note, according to BKPM data, investment from South Korea is dominated by the machinery and electronics industry sector (15%); mining (13%); gas and water (9%); the footwear industry (8%); and the rubber and plastic industry (8%).

Most of the investment is still in Java, followed by Kalimantan and Sumatra. The total investment realization from 2014 to the second Quarter of 2019 reached US $ 7.5 billion.

With investment realization reaching US $ 2 billion in 2017 and US $ 1.6 billion in 2018.

Trans Studio Roller Coaster neon board caught fire on Monday night 10 PM 13/01/2020 in Jl Iman Bonjol  Denpasar just outside of Kuta. The new theme park only recently opened on Dec 12th 2019. Local residents were shocked  by the sudden clouds of billowing smoke and the large fire at the Trans Studio Mall just in front of the Roller Coaster track.
