International Airlines entering Bali from January 2022

International Airlines entering Bali only expected from January 2022 says the president of state-airport operator Angkasa Pura I Faik Fahmi on November 21 th 2021 . Airlines need time to process the permits. Especially after the Indonesian government had only opened the flight route as early as October 14.  Angkasa noted the earliest would likely be the end of this year but international airlines would start by opening chartered flights instead of traditional commercial flights. There are a number of airlines but I can’t reveal it just yet as it has yet been finalized.

There are a number of them but for regular flights, it will likely start in January  2022, He said that one of the main considerations is Indonesia’s health quarantine policy as the length of Covid-19 quarantine for foreign visitors has been slashed to three days and that the quarantine process that Indonesia imposed reduced international interest towards Bali. Limited availability of international airlines serving direct flights to Bali is also due to the limited countries that the Indonesian government allows, which is 19. These countries were chosen because of its low risk Covid-19 status according to the WHO which among others include China, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and Poland.

Month after Bali reopened : Zero International Tourist

Month after Bali reopened on October 14, 2021 has the islands of the gods still no foreign tourists or direct international flights, The Governor of Bali, I Wayan Koster, at the opening of international tourism  revealed that there were already 20,000 foreign tourists who made hotel reservations for November 2021 from 19 countries, including China, India, Japan, South Korea, Italy, France. , Spain, Sweden, Poland, Hungary and Norway. But from the report I received yesterday, from those 19 countries, there were already orders for hotels. There are 3,000. Some countries have up to 3,000 orders. There are 2,000. There are 1,500. From Europe I see quite a lot. If that’s the total, in November the order was 20,000 says Koster  on  Thursday (11/10/2021).

Koster admitted that there are many reservations for November 2021 because there are already certain regulations for traveling to Bali, namely based on the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights and the Circular Letter of the COVID-19 Task Force. He hopes that the momentum of opening international flights in the future can be a recovery for tourism and Bali’s economy towards 2022 and beyond.  The government had issued a quarantine regulation for 8 days for foreign tourists who would come to Bali. However, because many complained about the regulation, finally the quarantine period was changed to 5 days in accordance with the Decree of the Chairperson of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Number 15 of 2021 dated October 15, 2021 concerning 19 foreign countries whose citizens were allowed to come to Indonesia.Month after Bali reopened

The old quarantine rules were then changed again on November 2, 2021 to only 3 days Even when the quarantine period has been shortened, still no signs of international flights of foreign tourists to Bali. On Friday  (12/11/2021), after meeting with the candidates for Indonesian Ambassadors in several countries, Koster submitted a request to the Ambassador candidates to be a part of promoting Bali. There are a few yes. I got the information yesterday from Garuda. Looks like it will be from Japan. But the date is not certain and still not officially conformed When asked about the emergence of complaints about the length of quarantine, Koster said that his party would propose to the Central Government so that, if possible, foreign tourists coming to Bali would not be burdened with quarantine. This is considering that all flight requirements to Indonesia are sufficient to state that they are free of COVID-19. The first requirement is that the vaccine is complete, the second is PCR, yes, it’s actually safe. That’s it, we really hope that we don’t need quarantine anymore. Even in quarantine, one day is enough to wait for the PCR results. The Domestic tourism  improved already a lot. No, no registration yet. There are already reservations for each hotel. But no one has arrived yet because he can’t fly the plane with any passengers.

The announcement was made by Secretary of the Bali COVID-19 Task Force , I Made Rentin on Thursday Novermber 11 th 2021. He said that parties at clubs and hotels have the potential to create crowds and makes potential risk high  for COVID-19 transmissions. The Bali COVID-19 Task Force has threatened to revoke the business license of a nightclub that organizes a party during PPKM Level 2.

Rentin said that a number of hotels in Bali had asked for permission to hold parties, especially for events closing in December 2021 and opening in January 2022. The Bali Provincial Government firmly refused.
Until now, no party activities have been allowed, there are even official letters from several hotels, asking us. The leadership’s direction is that we wait for the development of the national task force, and until now there has been no official permit by the National Task Force for party events including welcoming 2022 ,

The coordinator of the Java-Bali PPKM, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said Rentin immediately intervened to monitor the activities of the nightclub. He asked the local government to ensure nightclubs obey the rules. The national task force evaluated yesterday with Mr. Luhut, one of which was the focus and confirmation of Mr. Luhut as the commander of PPKM Java Bali, to governors, regents, mayors in Java and Bali to pay special attention to efforts to handle and control night activities without exception,

The rules in question include nightclubs being allowed to open on condition that the visitor capacity is below 100 percent. Operational hours Friday-Saturday, using the PeduliLindung application, wearing masks and so on. All night activities need to be noticed that they really implement health protocols,” said Rentin. No nightclubs have been closed or have their business licenses revoked for violating health protocols. According to him, the provincial government of Bali reprimanded nightclub entrepreneurs in a humane manner.  Luhut twice reprimanded the Bali Provincial Government because a number of tours, restaurants, beach clubs and other public places violated health protocols. The violation is in the form of managers manipulating the Pedulilindungi application data so that it is not full until visitors flock to it. In fact, next year Bali will be the venue for the international event, the G20.

Bali Airport without flight slots

Bali Airport without flight slots exactly two weeks after international flights from I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali reopened on October 14, 2021, there has not been a single international airline landing on the runway of Bali’s International Airport and  not been a single airline that has proposed a flight time slot to the airport. This was announced Taufan Yudhistira, the Stakeholder Relations Manager of  Bali Airport on Thursday (28/10/2021).

Bali Airport without flight slotsTaufan said that   the process of submitting an international flight slot time is carried out directly by airlines and the process is quite long because they also have to register with the IASM or Indonesia Airport Slot Management organization. Airlines must simultaneously submit a slot time application letter to the Ministry of Transportation, There are at least three agencies they need to write to from the Ministry of Transportation says Taufan. It would take at least 7-14 days from registering to getting approval to fly. If there are international airlines that apply for a slot time today, then at least they will only get approval and make flights at least a week after or seven days after the request.

Travel bubble with Bali approved

Travel bubble with Bali approved for fully vaccinated Australians from November 1 st 2021 without quarantining on return. The PM has moved to scrap the final bit of red tape stopping Aussies from travelling overseas days before the border reopens, after Jetstar launches a huge sale. Australians will be able to fly to Bali from Sydney for as little as $159 one way on some Jetstar routes from February and will no longer be required to seek an exemption to leave the country.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has confirmed today that Australia will scrap the final red tape hurdle for the vaccinated. The change means double vaccinated Australians will be eligible for international travel without seeking a travel exemption. Speaking on Sunrise, Mr Morrison confirmed the change adding that new travel bubble arrangements with Singapore were imminent.“Over half a million Australians have already been able to download the international vaccination certificate,” he said. “We are getting very close now to a reciprocal arrangement with Singapore.”

Bali now cheapest islands

The change has prompted Jetstar and Qantas to offer major discounts to get Australians travelling again with cheap deals to Hawaii, Japan, Singapore, Bali, New Zealand, Fiji and Thailand. While the Prime Minister has previously announced that international border bans will be lifted on November 1, the requirement that Australians need an exemption under biosecurity laws to leave their own country remains in place. That means travellers rushing to book flights have found they face delays and red tape in securing approval from the Department of Home Affairs to leave the country. All travel exemption requests currently need to be submitted at least two weeks prior to travel under the rules although exceptions on compassionate grounds are considered.

Eka Jasa

The controversial ban on Australians leaving their own country came into force on August 11 under an amendment to the Biosecurity Determination 2020. The rules meant that Australian citizens and permanent residents ordinarily resident in a country outside Australia would not be automatically exempt from Australia’s outward travel restrictions. On October 1, the Prime Minister announced fully vaccinated Australian citizens and permanent residents would soon be eligible for international travel without seeking a travel exemption. ”It’s time to give Australians their lives back,” Mr Morrison said.

Australians traveling to Bali maybe soon

But your passport for travel will now include proof that you are double vaccinated. The new rules also apply to any teenagers over the age of 12. However, children under 12 who are not eligible for a vaccine will still be able to fly. Australians who are fully vaccinated will need to show proof of their vaccination status at airport check-in on departure. Travellers will need to obtain an International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate. To apply, you need to register for a MyGov account if you don’t already have one and ensure that your vaccination is registered on the Australian Immunisation Register. This certificate will be accessible in a PDF format and can also be printed if you wish to carry a hard copy or you can hold it electronically on your phone. The Morrison Government claims that applying for your International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate “will only take a few minutes”

Aussies travelling to Bali by Christmas

Aussies travelling to Bali by Christmas  says Qantas CEO Alan Joyce. Holidaying  to the island of the gods will return by early 2022 at the latest. Currently, vaccinated travelers to the Indonesian island have to spend seven days in quarantine. But Mr Joyce said Qantas was in talks with the government about a different arrangement. The Indonesian government is looking for Bali, which is highly vaccinated, to do something similar to New South Wales,” he said.

From November 1, New South Wales will scrap all quarantine restrictions for fully vaccinated travellers. Mr Joyce suggested visitors to Bali could spend a couple days “in the resort” before being granted access to the community. They need Aussies there to rejuvenate their tourism industry, and we’re happy to help,” he said. We’re hoping to get Aussies back in (to Bali) before Christmas, or early in the new year at the latest, I think.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison said travel between Australia and Indonesia had been a “regular discussion” between he and Indonesian President Joko Widodo during the course of the pandemic, He said he expected it to resume when the pair met at the upcoming G20. One of the things we have to work through in November, is the issue of international vaccine certificates,” Mr Morrison said. About 320,000 Australians have downloaded their international certificate, but the Commonwealth now must undergo the process of establishing official recognition of vaccine certificates from other countries that travellers entering the country might use.

Bali quarantine at sea

Bali quarantine at sea planned by the Indonesian government to allow foreigners to spend the five days of mandatory quarantine aboard boats off the coast of island of the gods. Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno said the island-province had received requests from tourists and industry players that were interested in a five-day quarantine at sea, where visitors would be able to enjoy outdoor activities, such as diving and swimming. Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno said the island-province had received requests from tourists and industry players that were interested in a five-day quarantine at sea, where visitors would be able to enjoy outdoor activities, such as diving and swimming. This is especially important as the winter holiday period from December to March is approaching,” he said during an online press conference on Monday. Meanwhile, the Ministry’s undersecretary for tourism products, Rizki Handayani, said her team was coordinating with the Health Ministry to evaluate and certify ships that had been booked by tourists. “The ships’ operators say they are ready and have no problem with not docking for five days,” she said during the same conference.

Ngadiman Sudiaman, CEO at online water transportation marketplace cGO, said the liveaboard option would revive the marine tourism industry and put thousands of ships and pinisi (traditional Indonesian sailing boats) back to work. “This is a great policy. It can help bring back revenue to ship owners,” he told The Jakarta Post on Tuesday, adding that it would also accelerate the tourism industry’s recovery. “Demand is still low, but I’m sure this [option] could be an attractive alternative for foreign tourists as they can feel the vacation ambiance during quarantine,” Ngadiman added. Bali’s border was reopened on Oct. 14 to welcome foreign travelers from select countries. However, the island has yet to see tourism return to its former glory. Bali Deputy Governor Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati and the provincial tourism agency set a modest target of around 250 foreigners visiting Bali this month. The Bali administration has prepared 35 quarantine hotels, located in Ubud in Gianyar regency, Nusa Dua in Badung regency and Sanur, Denpasar, all three of which are marked as “green zones”, or areas with low COVID-19 case numbers. Neighboring tourism hotspot Thailand has announced it will admit tourists without the need for quarantine, but Sandiaga said Indonesia would not be following suit anytime soon. “We are not opposed to the idea of lifting the quarantine requirement, but for now, our focus is on reopening tourism with quarantine,” he said, adding that Indonesia would start considering opening the islands of Bali and Riau for vaccinated tourists with no quarantine once the ministry had “data to back it up”. “We would like to remind everyone that we are in the middle of a pandemic, and we want to make sure that health and safety are our priority until the pandemic is over,” Sandiaga added.
