I Putu Astawa , the head of the Bali tourist office confirmed on Sunday May 2 nd 2021 the delay after a meeting with the leaders of all stakeholders at the Central Government, the Covid-19 Task Force and the Ministry of Health. Singapore Airlines flights SIN-DPS-SIN route shoudl normally fly twice a week from May 4, 2021 and it now delayed until further notice.
The decision, was made due the increase in cases of Covid-19 exposure in several countries (India, Pakistan, the Philippines) and the consideration of the potential for the Covid-19 Task Force in Handling PMIs entering their respective regions. According Astawa it will be difficult to detect the entry of new covid-19 variants to Bali when many Indians have been travelling recently to Singapore . Only the 4 international airports CGK (Cengkareng), KNO (Kualanamo), SUB (Juanda) and MDC (Menado). allow currently international flights. Cargo flights are still allowed in other Indonesian Airports
