Month after Bali reopened : Zero International Tourist

Month after Bali reopened on October 14, 2021 has the islands of the gods still no foreign tourists or direct international flights, The Governor of Bali, I Wayan Koster, at the opening of international tourism  revealed that there were already 20,000 foreign tourists who made hotel reservations for November 2021 from 19 countries, including China, India, Japan, South Korea, Italy, France. , Spain, Sweden, Poland, Hungary and Norway. But from the report I received yesterday, from those 19 countries, there were already orders for hotels. There are 3,000. Some countries have up to 3,000 orders. There are 2,000. There are 1,500. From Europe I see quite a lot. If that’s the total, in November the order was 20,000 says Koster  on  Thursday (11/10/2021). 

Koster admitted that there are many reservations for November 2021 because there are already certain regulations for traveling to Bali, namely based on the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights and the Circular Letter of the COVID-19 Task Force. He hopes that the momentum of opening international flights in the future can be a recovery for tourism and Bali’s economy towards 2022 and beyond.  The government had issued a quarantine regulation for 8 days for foreign tourists who would come to Bali. However, because many complained about the regulation, finally the quarantine period was changed to 5 days in accordance with the Decree of the Chairperson of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Number 15 of 2021 dated October 15, 2021 concerning 19 foreign countries whose citizens were allowed to come to Indonesia.

The old quarantine rules were then changed again on November 2, 2021 to only 3 days Even when the quarantine period has been shortened, still no signs of international flights of foreign tourists to Bali. On Friday  (12/11/2021), after meeting with the candidates for Indonesian Ambassadors in several countries, Koster submitted a request to the Ambassador candidates to be a part of promoting Bali. But the date is not certain and still not officially conformed When asked about the emergence of complaints about the length of quarantine, Koster said that his party would propose to the Central Government so that, if possible, foreign tourists coming to Bali would not be burdened with quarantine. This is considering that all flight requirements to Indonesia are sufficient to state that they are free of COVID-19. The first requirement is that the vaccine is complete, the second is PCR, yes, it’s actually safe. That’s it, we really hope that we don’t need quarantine anymore. Even in quarantine, one day is enough to wait for the PCR results. The Domestic tourism  improved already a lot.
