Homeless Italian in Kuta survived for nearly a year from begging after his business in Canggu went bankrupt caused by  COVID-19  in 2020. The Italian foreigner, Albani Roberto (75) was found abandoned and begging at the Jalan Benesari in Kuta,

Homeless Italian in Kuta might face deportation

According the police officer I Gusti Agung Ketut Suryanegara was Roberto  found sleeping in front a store reported by residents then on Wednesday, May 5. 2021. He was  arrested because he claimed to have no money and his identity papers have been lost.

Roberto lived in Canggu and claimed to be an artist and has his own business that went bankrupt and could not return to his home country due to the implementation of a lockdown. Roberto is still in a healthy condition and was tested negative to the VIVID-19 virus.

After his examination he has been handed over by the Bali police to the immigration office. Suryanegara appealed to the Balinese people not to hesitate to report foreigners who are begging and having trouble in Bali  due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
