Shanty Goshan Commits Suicide The mystery of the wreck of a Yamaha Nmax DK 3151 QH motorcycle that was found completely burnt out from fire in Siyut Beach, in Gianyar on Saturday (15/2) at dawn has begun to unfold. The motorcycle was allegedly owned by a woman who was determined to commit suicide after dousing herself with gasoline. The victim finally died, while her husband survived severe burns.

There has been an outpouring of grief and condolences on Facebook related to Gex Shanty Goshan’s death. She was purportely the owner or the wife of the owner of Warung Goshan Segare Ayu on Segara Beach in Sanur. When NusaBali came to the seafood stall on Monday (2/17), information emerged that the owner of this stall was the same person as the owner of a burned motorbike on Siyut Beach.
A number of employees at Warung Goshan Segare Ayu, confirmed that the boss’s wife’s motorbike was found on fire at Siyut Beach on Saturday. However, they were reluctant to talk much because they could not say or did not know exactly what happened.
“Sorry, we just came here for work. We don’t know about problems outside of work. It’s true that the motorcycle that was found on fire was the owner of this shop. But, we don’t know when it happened” an employee of Warung Goshan Segare Ayu who declined to be named, has said.
Meanwhile, a neighbor of Warung Goshan Segara Ayu, said that the husband and wife of the seafood stall were familiarly called Wayan Ogoh and Geg Santi. From the information he had it was discovered that his wife, Geg Santi, had died. While her husband is still being treated in hospital in critical condition. “I heard that his wife (Geg Santi) burned herself on Siyut Beach after dousing herself gasoline. At that time, the husband tried to save his wife and was severely burned” he said.
He said, Wayan Ogoh and Geg Santi had not opened Warung Goshan Segara Ayu in Sanur’s Segara Beach. But the couple whose motorcycle caught fire was always driving an APV car every time he saw them. Since it was rumored that she had set herself on fire, I have not seen them. I also don’t know where their home is from and what their full name is. ” he explained.
Other information states, the couple whose motorcycle was found burned in Siyut Beach lives in the Banjar Sindu area of Sanur. The Yamaha Nmax which was found burnt on Siyut Beach was ridden by Geg Santi. After arrived at the beach Saturday morning, the woman put the bike up on two jacks and proceeded to douse herself with gasoline before setting herselve alight along with the motorcycle. However, it is unclear what her motive for the suicide was.
The flames that burned the victim and motorbike were later seen by Gusti Ayu, a stall owner on Siyut Beach, about 15 meters from the scene of the crime scene. From a distance, he had seen a white car and a male figure. Witness Gusti Ayu also vaguely heard that there had been a dispute between the victim and the man.
The woman was rushed to Sanglah Hospital for treatment however, the next morning condolences started to fill the Gex Shanty Ghosan’s Facebook homepage.
The man who was seen a bickering at Siyut Beach was the victim’s husband. That said, the husband had trailed his wife from Sanur. When he saw his wife douse herself with gasoline and set herself alight, he immediately rushed tried to extinguish the fire. However, his efforts failed, in fact the husband also burned.
Even though he was on fire, the husband reportedly was still able to lift his seriously injured wife into the car and drove her to Sanglah Hospital.
The wreck of the Nmax DK 3151 QH motorcycle was left lying on Siyut Beach. When the police arrived at the scene of the crime scene which is about 1.5 kilometers east of Lebih Beach, Lebih Village, Gianyar District, the motor had been completely destroyed.
Gianyar police chief, Komput Ketut Suastika, said on Monday “We are still investigating”.
