Foreigners queuing for food offered by the Balinese charity organisation LPM Legian during the Covid-19 pandemic. Not only local habitants or overseas Indonesians are collecting free food but also many foreigners according Wayan Puspa Negara , the head of the charity organisation LPM Legian. During the last month he observed several foreigners who felt they needed food assistance and begging sometimes for money he said on Tuesday (20/10/2020). Currently dozens of foreigners coming daily to the location where LPM Legian distributes free food.. Most of the foreigners are from Australia, others from Palestine, India. Puspa Negara also conversations with a few foreigners sometimes and asking why they stay on in Bali. Some of them claim to feel safer then in their home country during the Covid-19 pandemic. A few Australians told him that they will not starve from hunger in Bali which is like their second family. Puspa Negasa not only considering his action as a social activity, but hope his effort will also help to avoid people planning to have criminal activities.
For each implementation, LPM Legian distributes 150 packs of rice what is not enough for the big demand for all the people in need and it should be daily 400 packs and on Friday 500 packs.
