3 Students Steal A Woman’s Belongings
KLUNGKUNG – Klungkung Resort Police Criminal Investigation Unit personnel on Tuesday (12/24) secured three students of perpetrators of theft by weighting (cured).
The three students were Dewa Made AE (18), Ketut AS (17), and Putu MS (14). They come from Paksebali, Dawan, Klungkung.
Head of the Klungkung Resort Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Adjunct Police Commissioner Mirza Gunawan at the Klungkung Resort Police Headquarters, Monday (30/12) revealed that the three were secured after their victim, Ni Komang Sumiati (49) Besang Kangin, Klungkung District reported to the Klungkung Resort Police.
According to the report, Sumiati claimed to be a victim of theft around the Unda River, Semarapura Village Klod Kangin, Friday (6/12) around 18:00 CIT.
Before bathing at Unda River, the victim put her clothes on the seat of her Honda Scoopy motorcycle. In the victim’s pants pocket there is a mobile phone and wallet.
“In the wallet there is also an Identity Card, ATM, and IDR 1 million cash”, he explained. After bathing, the victim then headed for a motorcycle to retrieve her pants that was stored in the motorcycle seat.
How shocked, when she opened the seat of the motorbike, the victim knew that the items stored in her pants pocket were gone so they were immediately reported.
“We immediately conducted an investigation by asking for witness statements from victim and witnesses at the crime scene”, said Adjunct Police Commissioner Mirza.
After asking for information and conducting an investigation, finally, Tuesday (12/24), the perpetrators of the theft were identified and secured around 20:00 CIT.
As for the results of the development, the perpetrators confessed to the theft by using a saddle for the first time. That was done after they were tempted to get even greater loot.
The three perpetrators initially carried out the theft by taking someone’s belongings which were placed on the dashboard of the motorcycle while bathing in Unda River such as shampoo, money and others.
“The perpetrators hung around Kali Unda. Once safe, then they act. One perpetrator we hold. The other two we did not hold because they were underage but the case was still continuing. Our perpetrators are snared with Article 363 of the Criminal Code jo Article 56 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code”, he said.
